Using Discord

Copy message and channel links

Create direct links to messages and channels — essential for reports and staff follow-up.

A message link opens Discord at the exact message, even for someone who was not online when it was sent. That makes investigations faster than scrolling through chat logs.

With Developer Mode on, right-click a message and choose Copy Message Link. The URL contains the server ID, channel ID, and message ID. Paste it into report-help or a staff ticket alongside a screenshot.

You can also copy channel links from the channel name or via the right-click menu. Channel links help when the issue spans many messages rather than one line.

Links can break if the message was deleted or you lack access to the channel. Copy links before deletion when you can, and pair them with screenshots and user IDs so staff still have context if the link dies.
