- At minimum, we need the username of the person you’re reporting.
Even better is their User ID, as it’s unique and leaves no room for confusion.
(To find it: Go to your Discord settings, under “Advanced”, enable “Developer Mode”. Then right-click on the user and select “Copy User ID.”) - If the incident happened earlier, please include the exact date and time.
If it’s happening right now, make that clear so we can check immediately. - If the issue occurred in a specific channel, be sure to name it. This helps us find the context faster.
- Ideally, attach evidence, such as screenshots, videos, or audio recordings.
Please note: Statements from other users are not considered sufficient proof on their own, as we cannot verify whether they are unbiased witnesses or simply acquaintances of yours.
If your evidence involves larger files, you can upload them at https://eng-hub.org/upload and let us know the filename you used.
Please understand that, due to our internal team policy, we do not disclose what actions are taken in response to reports. All measures remain strictly confidential.
Please also understand that we generally do not take action in minor cases — for example, if someone simply called you an “idiot”. We’re a large server and our focus is on more serious issues.
Discord gives you plenty of tools to handle such situations on your own:
You can block or mute the person, report them directly to Discord, or simply step away from the conflict. Sometimes, taking a step back is the smarter move.
And an important note:
If you’ve been insulted and respond with insults of your own, you will receive the same penalty.
We do not accept “self-defense” or a so-called “right to strike back”. Taking matters into your own hands only makes things worse and won’t be treated any differently.
Kind regards
Your English Hub Moderation Team
