Why We Don’t Step In on Certain Issues:
As the moderation team, our role is to keep the server running smoothly as a whole. That includes maintaining a peaceful environment, enforcing server-wide rules, and helping with general issues that affect the broader community. That said, there are situations where we choose not to get involved, and we’d like to explain why.
1. Guestroom Channels Operate Independently
Guestroom channels are intentionally designed to function on their own. These are more self-contained spaces within the server, moderated by their own teams. As long as nothing violates Discord’s Terms of Service, we do not interfere with what happens in those rooms.
Keep in mind that you always have access to hundreds of other public channels on the server where different moderation teams are in place.
2. Time Gaps Make Follow-Up Nearly Impossible
We often get reports about situations that happened weeks or even months ago. At that point it is almost impossible to get a clear, objective understanding of what actually occurred, especially when it is one person’s word against another’s. Unless there is solid evidence or a clear TOS violation, we are unable to take further action.
3. You Have Tools to Protect Yourself
Not every disagreement requires moderation. Discord gives you several tools to take control of your own experience
Block stops someone from messaging you directly
Mute silences a user without them knowing
Report lets you flag serious violations directly to Discord
In cases of personal insults, differing opinions, or minor conflicts, we strongly encourage using these built-in features instead of escalating the situation.
4. What We Can Offer
If you still feel the issue should be brought to someone’s attention, we are happy to pass your message along to the appropriate team. To do that, we will need a short written statement from you that we can forward as is.
Just keep in mind that whether anyone replies, and what they choose to do with the information, is entirely up to them. That part is out of our hands. Forwarding your message would be a one-time courtesy on our end, not a guarantee of further action.
Not every conflict needs top-level moderation. We believe in setting boundaries, encouraging self-management, and keeping the peace across the entire server. Thank you for your understanding
